Fiona Watts

Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, Counsellor & Supervisor

MBACP (Accred), MBPsS

MscPsych
Bsc (Hons) Psych
PGDiploma Therapeutic Counselling (CBT)
PGDiploma Consultative Supervision

Fiona is a qualified Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, registered and accredited by the BACP (614552). She has 10 yrs experience of working within NHS, public sector, EAP and educational settings and has worked with individuals and couples of all ages, including young people. She has experience of working with a range of issues, including clincal depression, anxiety, confidence and self esteem, personality disorder, domestic and sexual abuse, OCD, trauma, bipolar, addiction, relationships, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, bereavement, sexuality, life-limiting health issues and work-related stress.

Your work with Fiona will be time-limited and solution-focused, identifying ways of overcoming the distressing emotional and physical effects of your current thinking and behaviour patterns. You will work together, as a team, to identify achievable goals and explore with warmth, humour, compassion, respect and sensitivity, the problems you are currently experiencing and how they impact on you. Fiona's aim is always to help you help yourself, to empower you and help you take control of your life by giving you the tools to understand why you do what you do, and most importantly, what you can do about it.

Whilst trained in CBT, Fiona also integrates other approaches to tailor the work so that it best fits your needs. For example, TA explores relationship and interaction patterns, and Mindfulness helps us focus on present moment experiences rather than dwell on the past – which generates low mood, or worry about the future – which increases anxiety.

Fiona is also a member of the British Psychological Society and the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. She holds two first class Psychology degrees, which has given her an extensive understanding of the developmental, sociological, biological and psychological factors underlying the problems we face at times.

Fiona holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Consultative Supervision, which enables her to work with supervisees in clinical and non-clinical settings. She has extensive experience of working as a counsellor and supervisor within organisations, with young people in educational settings and with adults diagnosed with enduring mental health conditions.

Fiona is fully insured and her fees reflect her training, qualifications and experience. Referrals are welcome from individual, couples, EAPs, GPs and other health professionals. Fees are £50 per session.

You are welcome to contact Fiona to have an informal chat about your current needs, either by ringing 07599 009 300 or emailing cbtherapysolutions@outlook.com
